Dancin’ on Sunshine: An Intergenerational Sing-Along Dance Party

What the world needs now is joy, movement, inspiration and some sunshine — and NFS brings it with “Dancin’ on Sunshine,” performed twice: once with the Family Folk Chorale in Arlington, and today here at Regis.
The program: “Dance with a Stranger,” “We Are Family,” “Vivir Mi Vida,” “I Love the Nightlife,” “Try Everything,” “1999,” “Stayin’ Alive,” “I Will Survive,” “Born This Way,” “Hey Brother,” “Shut Up and Dance,” “Walking on Sunshine,” “Vogue” and a “Higher Love” remix. Liz Lister leads the dancing; the band has grown to include a full brass section and a percussion team.
Proceeds from the NFS show go to support Urbanity Dance, a Boston-based nonprofit arts and community organization whose mission is to provide dance education and arts experiences to students of all ages and backgrounds, believing that movement is medicine. In a world that so deeply needs more connection, we are inspired by their work to use dance as a powerful tool for self-expression, joy and empowerment.
