Down on the Corner: Celebrating the Music of John Fogerty and Creedence Clearwater Revival

Temple Beth Avodah45 Puddingstone Lane, Newton, MA

Fogerty’s songs present a common man’s view of life in America, with anthems like “Fortunate Son” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” capturing the spirit of the Sixties, and tunes like “Deja Vu (All Over Again)” and “Centerfield” exemplifying personal reflection and resilience. This family-friendly and joyous concert will leave your toes tapping and heart singing.

The program also includes “Up Around the Bend,” “Down on the Corner,” “Old Man Down the Road,” “I Will Walk with You,” “Proud Mary,” “I’ll Be There,” “Joy of My Life,” “Lookin’ Out My Back Door,” “As Long as I Can See the Light,” “Don’t You Wish It Were True,” “Who’ll Stop the Rain” and “Midnight Special,” the last with a full brass section.

We’re honored to donate proceeds from this show to support Ukrainian refugees through USA for UNHCR, in memory of Wendy Gulley, a dear friend, family member, and fan of NFS.

Twelve days from now we reprise part of the program at the Linda Plaut Newton Festival of the Arts.
